LP : Joe Haider and his friends

Original German pressing from 1979 on CALIG, CAL 30 618. Matt silver cover with Joe Haider biography in German & English on the back. This one has 2 different line-ups, a quintet and a trio. The Quintet perfoms 2 tracks wich were originally released on the 2 record-set called „Four For Jazz - A Land Of Dolls“, a 1972 release on INTERCORD. The four Trio tracks are from the session wich led to the scarce 1973 „Café De Pyrénnées” private pressing on KICK RECORDS, but only 3 of the tracks were released on „Café De Pyrénnées”, the track „Muchacha“ is released exclusively on this CALIG record. A quartet-version of „Muchacha“ ft. Gerd Dudek on saxophone had already been released on the 1972 album „Four For Jazz – Sunday Child“, maybe this was the reason to exclude the tune from the „Café De Pyrénnées”-LP. The CD-re-release has this track as a bonus, you may find a soundclip in the www. I offer an Original copy of „Joe Haider Trio - Café De Pyrénnées” in my current auctions, probably only 300 copies have been pressed and it doesn't show up too often. The music on the “J.Haider & his friend”-album is amazing from the beginning to the end, excellent Rhodes by Haider, outstanding tunes predominantly in the modal vein, soulful grooves, great percussion- & bass-work and more. You can listen to the tracks from Café des Pyrénnées ( except Muchacha) on youtube.

Tracks: side 1: Tante Nelly - What is Happening – Muchacha side 2: A Land of Dolls - My Daddy Is Home - Café des Pyrénnées

Condition: the record looks mint- in daylight & in normal artificial light, it looks mint- bis mint-- under a very strong halogen lamp. Side 1 plays in mint- . Side 2 plays in mint- except for 3 minor soft tics after the intro of track 1.

The sensitive silver cover shows moderate shelfwear, all seams/spine are intact with just slight rub in a few spots ( a little more on the right part of the bottom-seam), front & back are fine with just little darkening in a few spots; overall ex--/vg++.

Zustand: die LP sieht bei Tageslicht & unter einer normalen Lampe mint- aus, unter einer sehr hellen Halogenlampe sieht sie mint- bis mint-- aus. Seite 1 spielt in mint- . Seite 2 spielt in mint- bis auf 3 eher leise Tics nach dem Intro des ersten Stücks.

Das empfindliche silberne Cover hat nur mäßige Lagerspuren, alle Kanten sind intakt mit leichtem Abrieb an einigen wenigen Stellen ( etwas mehr an rechten Seite der unteren Kante ), Vorder- & Rückseite sind sehr gut bis auf ein paar Nachdunkelungen; insgesamt in ex--/vg++ .

Alle Platten wurden professionell gereinigt, entweder von mir (Hannl Mikro) oder von den Vorbesitzern (Okki Nokki, Loricraft o.Ä.). Anschließend wurden sie nur wenige Male abgespielt bzw. nur einmal von mir zum Bewerten angehört (komplett oder in Ausschnitten). Optische Bewertung erfolgt in Tageslicht, in normalen Kunstlicht & unter einer sehr hellen Halogenlampe. Platten kommen mit neuer hochwertiger Innenhülle & in einer Schutzhülle. Bitte beachten: auch prof. gereinigte Platten können einige Staubpartikel haben; “eingefangen” während optischer & akkustischer Bewertung, Fotografieren oder den wenigen Abspielungen der Vorbesitzer.

Grading & Cleaning:

• all records have been cleaned on a professional record cleaning machine, either by me (Hannl Mikro) or by the pre-owners (Okki Nokki, Loricraft or the like). After cleaning the records have been played just a few times (or only once by me for playgrading)

• I playgrade each record (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, high-end Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN/ EMT TU-3 SFL (please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment)

• I also visually grade cleaned records in daylight, in normal artificial light & under a strong halogen lamp

• only an unplayed record is mint, my highest grading for a used record is mint- . My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg

• cleaned records are stored in a new pro innersleeve and they are placed in a PVC protection-sleeve

• pl. note: even pro cleaned records may have received some dust particles during visual-/play-grading, photographing or few pre-owner playbacks
