 Easily one of the very best quality of SCARCE collectible albums I have come across in the last few years!!!   This one hardly ever comes up for sale.

A fantastic copy of this second album by Hedgehog Pie and their rarest, hardly ever sighted.The quality of the vinyl is simply ASTONISHING!!!!  Both sides are  absolutely UNMARKED!!!! Even under a strong light there are NO marks or lines to be seen. The audio is breathtakingly sublime with an unbelievable clarity!!!! NO jumps, NO crackly sounds, NO skips!!! This album in this fantastic condition rarely comes up for sale and in my opinion it will be IMPOSSIBLE to better this. As such it is the ultimate KEEPER/VAULT copy and a mighty good investment!!!

Rare Original UK Rubber records first edition pressing of the totally classic 2nd HEDGEHOG PIE album "THE GREEN LADY". Original English pressing on the obscure Rubber records label from 1975 of this FANTASTIC electric folk-psych/rock masterpiece.Comparisons to Trees,Fairport Convention,Spirogyra,Steeleye Span and Pentangle are deserved as this is absolutely top shelf electric UK folk-rock with fuzzy guitar overtones that cause psych collectors to breathe heavy. Hedgehog Pie were at the fore-front of the electric folk movement, weaving jazz and rock grooves into their arrangements of traditional and self-composed songs and tunes. Their three studio albums are all stone cold classics,they toured with the likes of John Martyn, Richard Thompson and as headliners throughout the mid 70s.From their first release in 1975 to their demise was a very short but intensely creative five years.The first line-up,a full-blooded 6-piece band, features Martin Jenkins (later Whippersnapper, Bert Jansch Band) alongside the core members Mick Doonan, Jed Grimes and Stu and Margi Luckley. 

"The Green Lady" is the fabulous second album by this truly outstanding British folk-rock band . The LP comes housed in a beautiful laminated gatefold sleeve with a colorful cover painting,and various monochrome photographs of the band performing and in the studio on the inside. Boasting ten tracks, including four instrumentals,suggested a new direction for the band, moving away from a strictly traditional style to incorporating jazz and hard rock elements. These new ingredients were especially evident on the vocal tracks. Side two's "The Gardener" (trad.), "Daemon Merchant" and "Dreamer", served to free the band from their purer folk roots. Only the title song, which could easily have passed for a Steeleye Span recording, and the preceding instrumental, "Hunter's House/The Oak Tree" , sounded like holdovers from earlier sessions ~ Great Band,Great Album,A Classic!

This is a very heavy slab of vinyl and pure quality!!!!! The vinyl looks pristine  and I played it all the way through, it sounds STUNNING !!!! Re-issues do just not measure up to the depth of the sound. This is just awesome!!! NO jumps, NO pops and NO skips. NO background crackle!!!! This album is playgraded on a Linn Sondek/ Rotel/ B&W set-up. The audio is simply MINDBLOWING!!!! It would be IMPOSSIBLE to still upgrade from this copy. It has to be the very best available!!!!

The fully laminated gatefold sleeve is superb and a delight to hold in your hands and observe.  A genuine first press of this extremely rare album. There are a few mini inside gatefold creases near the inner spine. These do not distract from the overall superb appearance of this very scarce album. This album has been kept with great care!!! A TOP SHELF COLLECTOR'S ITEM!!!!

The spine is fully legible. The back of the sleeve has a faint start of ring impression. Otherwise unmarked!!! NO writing, NO stains etc.

Labels are NM without any spindle mark!!! SENSATIONAL!!!
