With very little need of introduction, here we have an original issue of the classic Northern Soul stomper 'Tainted Love' by Gloria Jones.
This is an original US first pressing Issue No.14003 on the cult Champion label (released with Tainted Love as the B-side) and the record is conservatively graded visually as EX+/MINT- (many would grade as MINT-). There are a few very faint harmless lines under bright light which are consitent with removal from the sleeve, no scratches or marks. The record lies completely flat and it still has its full factory sheen.
The labels are graded MINT. They are in perfect condition, not the slightest blemish.
The audio is graded as MINT. I played this record once only (when I bought it) and have just played it again. The sound is rich and warm with not the slightest hint of a crackle on my Technics 1210.
Copies of this rare quality regularly go for £80-£100.
As an ADDED BONUS I am including a limited edition picture sleeve, hand-made to pay tribute to this seminal Northern Soul behemoth. The guy who makes these usually gets £15-£20 a pop (sleeve only). It's a great novelty to have one!
This record was one of the staples of the Wigan Casino and Northern Soul scenes; one that should be in every fan's collection. Not only is this the original, the rarest and the best, but this copy is an absolute gem - so don't sit around waiting for another one to appear in this condition!
