Description

Frank Zappa - Beat The Boots (Volume 1 and 2)
I bought this new from G&S Music as soon as it was originally released.
These are both the record versions (not CD or tapes)
I am critical and in my opinion nothing is truly mint unless it is unopened and unplayed. So these aren't mint. The set has been very carefully stored - it is 25 years old and looks amazing still.
Box Set 1
The T-Shirt and Badge have never been worn.
I have played each album once on a Roksan Xerxes which was running a near new Audio Technica MC cartridge at the time. When playing them I backed them up to tape and never returned to playing the records.
Okay lets look at the negatives -
1) It's not cheap 2) Front of the box has a light crease in it. That is how it arrived day 1 3) The cover of Piquantique has a very light small 'crease' ? under the word Piquantique. It can be seen in the photo but send me a message and I will send you a better shot. 4) Rhino Records decided to put all albums in paper inner sleeves (criminal) which creates light surface marking (probably a strong word but you get the idea). Again all present when they were new. Good News - as you will know this doesn't affect the play back of the records BUT I want to make sure you are aware. 5) Anyone interested in buying this set will know that the original sources that were used by Rhino / Zappa were on the whole lo-hifi so sound quality is Okay but obviously far from perfect and has faults in places - Again this is not just this set but they are all like this.
Good Stuff -
1) Unless you pick this up new, I don't you will find a finer copy. 2) It is 8 albums (10 laps) in box one 3) The pop up band is awesome.
Box Set 2
Good Stuff -
1) Most of these LPs are unplayed. Those played (like box 1) have been played just once. Super fresh looking. 2)Beret hasn't been worn and scrapbook is spot on.
Okay lets look at the negatives -
1) The sleeves were never as good as box 1 and arrived with rub marks on the top plus one has burst slightly (see photo).
2) Slight mark on one of the front covers (see photo) - again how it arrived new.
3) Anyone interested in buying this set will know that the original sources that were used by Rhino / Zappa were on the whole lo-hifi so sound quality is Okay but obviously far from perfect and has faults in places - Again this is not just this set but they are all like this.
4) Front of the box has a light crease in it. That is how it arrived day 1
Just google if you need more information on the releases.
If you need more info or specific photos let me know.
The 2 sets together weigh over roughly 5kgs.
I want any buyer to be 100% happy and receiving exactly what he believes he is buying so ask questions - don't hold back.
