The eight respective offerings in this first Beat the Boots collection - of which there were two volumes - cover the years 1967 to 1982. Zappa decided by intention not to make any adjustments or corrections and present the individual pieces exactly the way they were being sold in the underground market via head shops and independent music stores to prove - first - how bad the sound quality was and - second - to complain about those who released his new songs (often played in concerts before having been released on record) before he was able to do and therefore losing money (in his opinion).

With the exception of the t-shirt everything (incl. the Beat the Boots sticker) is included.With Gimmick rock theatre.

There's only one spot on the outer box (see picture), otherwise everything is perfect. 5 records have been played one time only, the three others are unplayed.

My personal favourite without doubt is Saarbrücken 1978 live with some heavy alternatives of great hits.

Rare and collectable.
