Description
Folk Art FLP-5002, “God Made the Blues”, Volume I, from 1964. Rev. Anthony Campbell, Calvin Morris, and Hank Davis collaborate on a very unusual LP that is mixed blues and gospel from the heady days of the civil rights movement. The vinyl plays at VG++ with bits of static, though much of the LP is better described as NM. The laminated jacket is VG++ with solid seams all around and a bit of corner wear; jacket back is mostly clean with two sticker marks in the center (see scan). Tracks are “Some Gonna Call Him”, “How Long Have You Been a Negro?”, “I Want Jesus to Walk with Me”, “Motherless Children”, “A Thousand Miles form Home”, “You Can’t Make Me Doubt Him”, “Takin’ Names”, “Nobody’s Fault but Mine”, “Hit ‘em Again, Lord”, “Lookin’ Good”, “Red Light”, “Timber (The Mule Song)”, “Don’t Look Now”, and “O Freedom”. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $14.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, and Australia; elsewhere inquire. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 per LP domestic, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail for $11.75 extra is strongly recommended. (Last year, a package to the Netherlands was lost in shipment, resulting in disappointment on both sides.) Many old records are now practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs will be mailed together in a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped.
