Description

Hi and thanks for looking. This auction is for an original 1979 copy of the rare ep by Worthing punk band FX featuring 3 tracks: Souths gonna rise again, O.B.E. & slag. There is an excellent website with information about the band and on how to tell later bootlegged copies of this record from originals at http://www.boredteenagers.co.uk/F-X.htm. Please check it out and rest assured that this is an original copy with all the lines on the flag clear and unbroken and the raised edge with the faint slip turrets. These can just be seen in the photos. On the A side by the word reserved and on the B side at around 11 o'clock. Scratched into the run off on side A is: SR4501-A     "OBE"/"SLAG"  PATRICK ALLEN        And on the B side: SR4501-B     'SOUTHS GONNA RISE AGAIN'  PATRICK ALLEN (Patrick Allen was the band's manager/promoter)

The track 'Souths gonna rise again' should have been the A side but is marked on the label as B side. This is another way of telling that it is the original 1979 release.

I don't think this record was ever played before today because when i put it on my turntable it would not turn properly because the hole was too tight. I had to use a pencil to gently open it up enough for it to play. So i guess its been played once. The vinyl is in excellent/unmarked condition. The 8 inch folded sleeve is a little rubbed with a couple of slight creases and scrapes. The folded cover and the inner sleeves have marks from where they were glued together originally.

My 2006 rare record price guide values this record as £100+ in mint condition and i've seen poorer quality copies go for over £50 on ebay and privately. I don't think you'll find better vinyl than this so i think the start price is realistic.
