Description
You have the opportunity to bid on this beautiful example of Elvis' Second Album, simply titled "ELVIS" (LPM-1382), released in 1956 on the RCA Victor label. This record has the "Alternate Take" of "Old Shep", which was pressed in error and was never to be released again until 1992! This fine album is the next in a long string of Elvis Presley LP's and singles that I will be gradually listing from my collection of over 35 years in the making. Unfortunately, there is no monaural "Speedway" or "Elvis' Gold Records, Vol. 4" in my holdings, but very few of the records that I will be listing will be in lower condition than "VG", as I have upgraded through the years, seeking out the best that I could find. I will make every attempt at listing the collection in cronological order through 1968, as the majority of collectors tend to stop there, but I will also list a sprinkling of some post-1968 material for those who may be interested.
This particular record with Matrix Numbers (Side 1): G2 WP7207-17S and (Side 2): G2 WP7208-17S, remains very glossy and apparantly played with care. It had to have been adult-owned all of its life! It grades VG+ and the labels are EXCELLENT, with just a few very light spindle marks. The cover is EXCELLENT with just a tiny bit of edge wear at the open end along with very light corner wear at the same end. It is very clean with no seam splits or seam breaks! There is some extremely light ring wear visible on the back side and there is absolutely no tape, writing, grafitti or stickers whatsoever! The lettering on the spine is highly legible. A fantastic record and cover for being well over 56 years of age! See the photos for multiple views of this cover and the record to judge for yourself.
This album will come with its original "onion skin" Inner Sleeve (has 4-inch tear along one seam) along with a plain white sleeve and shipped with the record separated from the cover to prevent seam splits from the record sliding around during transit.
