Description
This is an auction for an Original copy of the HARD TO FIND 1959 LABEL DOG ON TOP EP release Elvis Presley - A Touch Of Gold (Volume 1) released in the USA.
The record itself (EPA-5088 MAROON) is in VERY GOOD+ / VERY GOOD condition.
There are some visible marks/scratches but nothing that can be felt and this retains some of it's natural sheen.
This is also a 1st pressing as indicated by the 1s on the trail off on both sides.
The centre labels have NO WRITING but have a small sticker on one side! (see photos)
The THICK CARDBOARD picture sleeve is much sought after and was listed in a U.S guide book back in 2016 as $120 in the condition it is in now (which i would say is VERY GOOD+) for the sleeve alone!!!
This sleeve is in reasonable condition for the age.(see photos)
The only things that stops this from grading higher is some tape marks , ringwear / scuff marks and faint writing on the front
This is also the RARER uncorrected 1st issued picture sleeve which missed the word "OF" out and it was squeezed in at the side. ( see photos)
That all said this is a great affordable collection filler until that mint $500+ copy comes along!
The record is also stored in a separate paper sleeve to prevent anymore wear to this RARE sleeve!!
Overall 2 years ago this was valued at $250+(£200 approx) .
I dont have a current price guide but i would say at least £210+.
THIS WOULD SERVE AS A GREAT AFFORDABLE COMBINATION OF RECORD AND SLEEVE UNTIL THAT MINT $500+ COPY COMES ALONG!!!!
With a LOW START and NO RESERVE you might be able to grab yourself a bargain!!!
