Description
Super clean condition and scarce copy of this 1973 Bowie classic. This, his sixth studio album, was released extensively worldwide and subject to many re-issues and re-pressings with several label and sleeve variants.
This is an original orange-label 1973 copy in the gatefold sleeve with the stiff-card lyric inner sleeve. Initial copies of this version came with an added postcard, inviting applications to join the official fan club.
This copy does not have the fan-mail postcard.

Vinyl: Ex - Super clean condition. Vinyl has only the very lightest of superficial hairline surface marks and retains an incredible lustre and sheen for an album that's 42 years old! Play-tested and sounds superb - lies nice and flat on the turntable with no signs of any warping. It has the original orange RCA Victor label with the RCA brand in white down the left hand edge of the label and the word Victor, also in white at the 3 o'clock position. What usually passes for rim-text is produced in four lines of small white text at the base of the label. Rest of the label text is in black. The labels are clean and free from scuffs, stains and blemishes with no discernible spindle-wear.
Sleeve: VG+/Ex - A great condition sleeve for its age. It's the original gatefold edition - semi-gloss finished stiff card, with the Pierre Laroche lightning flash make up portrait shot on the front cover. The rear cover features a red & blue line drawn outline with track-listing in red text and album credits in blue text. The gatefold features a double-spread photo of Bowie, stood upright, with body shout silvered out from shoulders down. Print finishing by Shorepack. The inner sleeve is produced on gloss finished dark blue stiff card with the red and blue lightning flash detail and lyrics in white text.
Sleeve is completely intact with no tears or creases. There is a little age discolouration on some of the white areas and a little corner-wear & split (see photo). The spine is in great shape with all printing completely legible and the inner is in perfect shape.
