1 of only 2,000 autographed albums ever issued: Rare, sealed and autographed by Elton John and Bernie Taupin. Brown vinyl edition of Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy. Never been opened; '1 of 2,000' orange seal still intact.
The orange sticker reads, "This limited edition pressing is one of 2,000 personally autographed to thank you for your support." These albums--the first 2,000 ever issued of this landmark recording--were intended to be gifts for people 'in the business,' their families and friends--and the 'fortunate few.' Now, you can be one of 'the few.'
How did I come across this rarity? In the 1970s, my wife's uncle worked for the MCA Records manufacturing plant in Pickneyville, IL (a hundred or so miles southeast of St. Louis). Every month, she would go to Uncle Jim's and come back with a Peaches crate (remember those?) full of unopened albums. One day, that crate contained the album you see here. For more than 30 years, it has sat in that crate. And now, it can be yours.
