Description
Collectors, here is a fascinating disc, Edison Diamond Disc 52128, electrical recordings from late 1927. Two Fox trots played by Al Friedman's Yoeng's Orchestra, the familiar "My Blue Heaven" and "The Calinda" (label missing). The record has two errors. First, the label is on the WRONG SIDE of the record! Play the side with the label, you will hear "The Calinda". Second, the popular Vaughn De Leath is given credit for the vocals. The singer is a man and certainly not Miss De Leath!! Edison Diamond Discs have three versions of this song, Miss De Leath does sing this on a different record. I cleaned the record with rubbing alcohol and taped the loose parts of the white label back onto the record. The record plays quite well, there is some surface noise. Only "My Blue Heaven" was released as a Blue Amberol cylinder record. Late 1927 is near the end in Diamond Disc land, production ended in mid 1929 and this record is scarce!! Add this disc to your record stack! Sensible buy it now price, go for it!!!
