Description
Collectors, here is a great disc, Edison Diamond Disc 52073, circa fall 1927. Vaughn de Leath ("The Radio Girl") sings two songs, with Bill Regis at the piano: "Yep! 'Long About June" and (label missing) ""Baby Feet Go Pitter Patter". Fun songs with a nice delivery, you will enjoy both songs. It was reported that after Miss de Leath made a trial recording in 1920, the nearly deaf Mr. Edison declared her "the worst singer I ever heard". By the late 1920's, she was a star and recorded for Edison and other labels. "June" was issued as a Blue Amberol cylinder #5384. The record plays well, some surface noise on the "Pitter Patter" side would improve by cleaning the record. The one label still all there is glued tightly to the record. Very scarce 52000 series disc, go for it!!!
