Collectors, here is a very rare disc, Edison Diamond Disc 51363, released August 1924. The record has "Minstrelsy Of Other Days", parts 1 and 2. This is by the Empire Vaudeville and Minstrel Company, with orchestra. Edison used that name on about a dozen different cylinder and disc records. Performers varied, but included popular singers such as Billy Golden and Edward Meeker. This is set up like a minstrel show: corny (and often racist) jokes in between songs, with a big finale sung by the entire company at the end of part 2. As far as I can tell, Edison did not release either side as a Blue Amberol cylinder. This is a fun listen you will enjoy a lot. The record plays very well with little background noise and occasional "ticking" sounds. There is one very small edge chip on the part 2 side, it is out of the playing surface and does not interfere with the performance. The white record labels are securely attached to the record. By 1925 Edison disc sales were quite low and I have never seen this record in my over 40 years of collecting antique records. I offer a very reasonable buy it now price given what I have here, go for it!!
