(especially in this condition) by DAVID BOWIE called "SPACE ODDITY " and is an ORIGINAL 1969 UK STEREO 1st Pressing on the 1st Press PHILIPS label.THIS LP IS MEGA RARE AND VERY DIFFICULT TO LOCATE. THIS IS POSSIBLY DAVID BOWIE's RAREST LP's EVER, AND HARDLY EVER TURNS UP FOR SALE... TRY AND GET HOLD OF ANOTHER ONE!..NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS IN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!!  CONDITION...(have a look at my photo's) THIS IS THE ORIGINAL UK 1969 STEREO 1st PRESSING ON THE 1st PRESS SILVER AND BLACK TEXTURED  LABEL. 1st PRESS 1Y//2 / 2Y//2 MATRIXES,AND 1st PRESS GATEFOLD SLEEVE ...THIS LP IS MEGA MEGA RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND - SO DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS ULTRA RARE RECORD...this is the ORIGINAL PHILIPS UK STEREO 1st pressing from 1969 and is in STUNNING!!!! condition!..The record is pressed on a slab of THICK black quality vinyl. The Cat no.is  SBL.7192 on the 1st press PHILIPS label...(have a look at my photo's) and is a UK STEREO 1st Pressing..

Labels are the sensational black and silver matt textured PHILIPS  format in near mint condition.With the PHILIPS logo above the central holes on both sides of the labels to confirm that this is the very first issue of this magnificent rarity. Has a few very very minor spindle lines to indicate that the record has possibly only been played 2 or 3 times!!! With NO damage of any kind. NO graffiti , NO rips NO tears or stickers and would therefore grade as  near as mint condition!!!!

Vinyl

Thickly pressed heavy weight vinyl pressing with jet black mirrior like surfaces That have that just pressed look!!. A magnificent vintage classic Against a strong halogen light and angled at 45 degrees. There are NO surface marks,NO scratches NO blemishes at all!!! NO tiny faint wispy lines are visible whatsoever!!!. A remarkable visual and impossible to locate in this condition!!! and would therefore grade as near as mint !!! (if not mint) The vinyl has a beautiful full sheen which would be impossible to find on a record of over 40 years!!!!....virtually impossible to upgrade on this classic!!!

Sleeve

First issue matt textured gatefold  sleeve is in excellent ++ condition for a record of over 40 years old!!!..Showing only a miniscule amount of storage wear with some very very light wear close to the opening edge and spine,and has NO ring wear at all!!!.The sleeve has NO rips,NO tears and absolutley NO graffitti or sticker marks whatsoever!!!, the spine is perfectly straight and clearly legible.The sleeve is a pleasure to view and is in excellent++  condition for a record of this age!!This is a fine example of this sensational PHILIPS  classic !!!

Space Oddity is a 1969 album by rock musician David Bowie. Originally released by Philips in the UK as David Bowie and by Mercury in the U.S. as Man of Words/Man of Music, it was reissued by RCA Records in 1972 under its current title.

Regarding its mix of folk, balladry and prog rock, NME editors Roy Carr and Charles Shaar Murray have said, "Some of it belonged in '67 and some of it in '72, but in 1969 it all seemed vastly incongruous. Basically, David Bowie can be viewed in retrospect as all that Bowie had been and a little of what he would become, all jumbled up and fighting for control..."[1]

Held to be "the first Bowie album proper",[2] and his first deemed worthy by record companies of regular reissue, Space Oddity featured a notable list of collaborators, including session players Herbie Flowers, Tim Renwick, Terry Cox, and Rick Wakeman, as well as cellist Paul Buckmaster, multi-instrumentalist and producer Tony Visconti, and bassist John Lodge (not to be confused with The Moody Blues' bassist of the same name). Before recording for the album commenced, "Space Oddity" had been selected as the lead single based on an earlier demo.[3] Tony Visconti saw it as a "novelty record" and passed the production responsibility on to Gus Dudgeon.[2] Visconti thus produced all the songs on the album bar what would become, from its 1972 reissue onwards, the title track.

my records are condition graded visually in accordance with Record Collector's Grading System as follows:

MINT (M): Unplayed, pristine condition, often still sealed.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in almost brand new condition with no apparent surface marks, full original vinyl lustre, and no deterioration in sound quality.The cover and any extra items are in near perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and/or packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record obviously has been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover and/or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has deteriorated noticeably, perhaps with some distortion and/or scratches. The cover and/or contents may suffer from folding, scuffing, spine-splits, major discolouration, etc.
