This normally needs no introduction! David Bowie's first excursion on vinyl under his real name from 1964.
We have recently sold an ordinary issue here on eBay for over £1,500

I have never had one of these for sale before, in fact, talking to a Bowie fanatic recently, he doubted they existed BUT THEY DO!
The photos say it all. The record is 'near mint' with only a couple of spindle marks on each side: the playing surfaces are perfect. But, best of all, you can see those magic words "demonstration sample not for sale" very clearly. There would not have been more than a dozen or so of these ever made and how many are in existence now?
Just think; this is the absolute debut of the man known as 'The Dame' and 'The Thin White Duke". Without question the most respected British Iconic Performer (but I do not need to tell the fans that!). His very FIRST RECORD and, not the one you might have been lucky enough to buy in a Beckenham Record Shop in 1964, but, one pressed just for the music business. It has to be the rarest and most desirable single ever.
My knees are going weak!
Incidentally, this came to me in a plain white cover as it would not have had a company one. However, I have put a correct VOCALION cover on it but, since this cover is not perfect, I will include a brand new reproduction one (pictured along the original).
For this lot I am putting a highish but realistic start price. I usually start my auctions with a low reserve but this time I am going to demand a serious starting price. If it does not sell here I shall put it back in my shop and wait for the right time. It will be a privelege to have it on view.
