Description
Offering for bid an original 1972 stereo vinyl promo white-label album release of "A Song For You" by the CARPENTERS (A&M SP-3511) in near-mint condition (no visible marks on clean, shiny vinyl). The cover is also in excellent condition with perfect spine and seams, practically no scuff, and just minor dents on the opening corners.
It's interesting to note that this was one of the first "green" albums (if not THE first), since the inner sleeve containing lyrics makes this boast: "As an anti-pollutionary measure, this inner sleeve is made of 100% recycled paper." Keep in mind that this was 37 years ago, long before CD packages of the 90's started including green reminders inside asking you to recycle all materials!
Contains 13 great tracks, including the big hits BLESS THE BEASTS AND CHILDREN (3:07), HURTING EACH OTHER (2:46), IT'S GOING TO TAKE SOME TIME (2:55), GOODBYE TO LOVE (3:50), TOP OF THE WORLD (2:56), and I WON'T LAST A DAY WITHOUT YOU (3:47), plus A Song For You (4:42), Crystal Lullaby (3:58), Road Ode (3:50), Flat Baroque (1:45), Piano Picker (1:59), Intermission (0:22), and A Song For You [reprise] (0:53).
