READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
So with that said…
Bob Dylan 1962 First Pressing MONO Debut LP 6 Eyes Stunning Vinyl Plays NM!
This is the album that Dylan himself has said that he’d liked to have “crossed out.” Why?? I don’t think we’d ever heard him play that harmonica like this ever again, nor had he played and sung with that early style of energy and grit to his voice. This is one pof the most completely live-sounding studio albums in existence. Thankfully for us, he wasn’t allowed to cross it out.
Vinyl--- Excellent/ Excellent. LP looks every bit as good as any Percy Faith album you’ll find at the thrift store! Side 1 has a small scuff on the first track, side 1. Non-feelable with the fingertip. Other than that, both sides are beautiful. A little groove-dulling from the last 61 years. I test-played this LP, and it sounds smooth and silky. Minimal static tics!
Plates--- 1F/ 1E.
Cover--- Solid VG. Top and bottom seams have significant shelfwear. Lots of missing slick. Front and back covers have yellowed. Front cover has light to moderate wear, back cover has light dirtwear. Columbia knew how to make records and covers last for several decades. NO SPLIT SEAMS OR SPINE.
Labels--- Excellent/ Excellent. Their only issue is some very faint spindle marks on each side that don’t detract from their ability to present extremely well. “CBS” printed very small under the white Columbia logo. Full glossy, both sides.
Columbia Inner Sleeve--- Original Columbia inner sleeve is present and in VG+ condition. Both sides have yellowed. Small ½-inch tear at the top of one side. NO SEAM SPLITS.
A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Note: All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.
CAUTION! There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids. A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
