Description
For auction, A Very Fine Copy of the Extremely Rare LP by Lightnin' Hopkins on the Score Label, Score SLP-4022, which came out in 1955. This record features some of Lightnin' Hopkins best sides, material recorded on Aladdin from the late 1940's. The record is in VG++ shape with very little play wear. The record has a few marks, and some very fine scratches that do not effect play. The record plays with pops and clicks, and could benefit from a deep cleaning on a professional machine. The label on side 2 is peeling a bit, and this can be seen in my pictures. Keep in mind, the record is over 60 years old. Some of the cuts on this LP were dubbed from 78's, which adds a bit of surface noise in playback. I've had 3 copies of this LP in my lifetime, and this is the best copy I have heard, with very powerful sound, and strong presence. If you think you will find a better copy, you will be in for a long wait. The cover is in VG++ shape, with no seam splits, which is rare as this LP usually shows up with wide open seams. The upper seam is lightly taped, and this can be seen in my pictures. This is a three day auction, so please bid fast, or you will miss out on one the rarest Blues LP's. Please check my listings for more great Blues LP, and Rock-A-Billy 78's.
