Up for purchase here is a true holy grail caliber Beatles LP, a true 1st state, 1st press of Something New on Parlophone. This is the true first day press, which includes all the indicators:

• "SOLD IN U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS, SEE PRICE LISTS" printed on both labels

• The Parlophone Co LTD on labels

• KT tax stamp on label

• CPCS 101 pressing

• Garrod & Lofthouse printed cover

• Emitex ad obc

If you are looking at this listing you likely know the story, but if not: Parlophone was established to press albums for sale on US Armed Forces bases across Europe. They were sold to soldiers at approximately half the price of the same LPs in the States, and became very popular. When they began pressing Something New they accidentally pressed it with the "Sold in UK" print on the labels, an obvious mistake as these LPs were not intended for sale in the UK. They caught their error VERY early in production, halted production to fix the problem and began producing the copies without the error. It is unclear how many actually made it out of the factory, but it was obviously an incredibly low number.

VINYL (play grade): STRONG VG (even better for much)

Outstanding player. The LP would grade lower visually as there are light scratches over much of the surface, but there is still some gloss left on the vinyl and it plays very strong. Side 1 plays extremely well, with only occasional light static. Side 2 also plays well, but had a few pops along the way (none for more than two turns). Noise is never even close to overpowering and I found the entire LP to provide an extremely enjoyable listen. Labels are solid, lots of spindle marks and some wear around the spindle hole.

COVER: STRONG VG

No splits or tears. Nice color. Corner wear which can be seen in pics. Some cracking and creasing around each of the edges and on the laminate. Nice strong readable spine. Also includes the original price tag, which is extremely cool because the very low armed services base price can be seen ($2.35). ALSO INCLUDES THE ORIGINAL INNER SLEEVE, which does include a tear on the back. Please check out the pics. WILL BE SHIPPED IN A MOFI SLEEVE AS WELL.
