1969 UK 2nd *MONO* PRESSING LP
**WITHOUT 'SOLD IN UK..' LABEL TEXT**
The final incarnation of this iconic label was available for just a few months in late 1969 before the switch to the black and silver 'One EMI Box' design.
These late variants were noteable for the omission of the 'Sold in U.K...' label text which was removed from all EMI product from August 1969.
This 1969 pressing boasts superb audio quality - free from the distortion and crackle the first pressings were so prone to.
This rare 2nd mono pressing is on the UK black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 7027
Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but carry 'Gramophone Co. Ltd..' rims.
There is no tax/price code visible on either label.
Housed in a fully laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' mono gatefold cover.
Complete with cut-out sheet and white inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1
Stamper numbers: 4/RLG & 10/MAH
The surfaces are clean but display some light surface marks and hairlines under a halogen desk lamp but no major scratches.
100% flat on the turntable with no signs of dishing or warping.
Crisp and clear sound with no heavy groovewear distortion in either channel on any track (even 'She's Leaving Home').
There ia some low level background on the run-ins and during quieter moments but all tracks play well without any hiss, clicks, pops, jumps or repeats.
Bright and clean with light to moderate storage and handling wear.
The front panel is clean and bright with a few light light creases to the front panel and spine area but no major wear.
There is some storagewear to the corners but the opening edge is clean and displaying light wear only.
The inside is in great shape without any marks, writing or missing paper.
The spine is clean and readable with no missing paper or laminate. All the seams are strong and unsplit.
