1967 UK 1st *MONO* PRESSING LP
**EARLY W I D E S P I N E COPY**
This excellent & early 1967 UK 1st mono pressing is on the UK black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 7027
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Gramophone Co Ltd...' rims
The 'KT' tax/price code is visible on the side 2 label.
Housed in a fully laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono gatefold cover with internal flipbacks with 9mm W I D E spine.
Complete with original red & white designer inner-sleeve and untouched cut-out sheet.
Matrix numbers: XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1
Stamper numbers: 3/R & 1/G
The '1/G' mother/stamper on side 2 signifies this copy was one of the first few hundred copies ever pressed!
CONDITION Disc Labels: EXCELLENT PLUSSlight hole touch-up and a few light spindle trails but no major faults.
Visual: NEAR MINT
Both sides appear MINT & totally unmarked viewed in strong daylight, with no groove-whitening or dulling to either surface from poor storage.
Careful inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals just a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines, but absolutely no other marks or wear.
100% flat both sides on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Audio: EXCELLENT
This copy has been received moderate play and some intermittant light background crackle is audible on side 1, most notably on 'She's Leaving Home'.
However, apart from that and a few light ticks on the side 2 run-in, there are no further significant or major audible faults on this rare & early copy.
Cover: EXCELLENT
The vibrant front panel retains its high-gloss laminate with just a few small 'thumbnail' creases, but no disc impression or storagewear rubbing.
The rear panel is just as bright and again bears just a few small 'thumbnail' creases towards the opening edge, but no other significant wear.
There is some light bruising to the upper corners but all opening edges are in perfect condition and appear untouched.
The inside is vibrant and 'as new' with no missing paper to either flipback edges.
The spine is clean and full laminated with just some light pinching to the corners.
Apart from a tiny, almost inisible 1cm upper seam stress repair, all are seams strong & intact with no further wear or damage.
Inner: EXCELLENT MINUS
Slight toning and a taped lower seam repair.
