Description
Complete & original heavyweight vinyl 'ringed' black & gold Parlophone label 1st UK pressing of ‘The Beatles - Please Please Me’ with 1H/1H mother/stampers denoting that this is one of the very earliest pressings pressed using EMI's 1950's machines prior to, or at least alongside, any non-ringed 1G/1G 1st mother/stamper. This of course also has all the usual 1st pressing credit errors of the 1st label black & gold Parlophone label hat incorrectly credited Dick James for the publishing rights on many tracks before the error was spotted and corrected for the 2nd black & gold press.
The sleeve is also a 1st press ‘Gold’ sleeve printed by Earnest J. Day Co. Ltd, can be identified by the"Photo: Angus McBean" credit alignment on the front bottom right corner, which begins where the "s" of songs end. On the second issue sleeves, the credit was moved further to the left aligning with the “g”.

Condition:
Beautiful condition! The disc has a real deep-sheen gloss with only light signs of use visible in either good natural light or under strong direct halogen spotlight. It visually grades EXCELLENT! There is no warping to the disc. The playback is equally as good as the visual, if not better. A great start with a very quiet run-in to side 1, track 1 without crackle, hiss or issue. After the "1, 2, 3... 4" that big punchy 1st-press sound hits you straight away. The great condition continues throughout the whole LP. Lead-ins to both are nice and quiet and each track plays without issue, there are no pops, no hiss, and clearly no skips/sticks with this grade, nice and quiet between tracks, EXCELLENT! The cover is also in great condition, glossy clean front without ring wear or stains. The spine is sharp, clean and fully-readable and without wear. The corners are sharp, the back is nice and bright, no stains, light foxing/signs of handling and faint initials in the top left corner, EXCELLENT MINUS! Complete with its original tracing-paper Emitex inner sleeve which is clean without splits, EXCELLENT PLUS! This comprises both a fantastic listening & also collectors condition item complete 1st UK mono press of The Beatles debut album from its original release date of March 22nd 1963, hot off the press from day 1!
