Item Description & Condition:
’PAPERBACK WRITER/RAIN’ was released on 10 June 1966 and went straight to the No 1 position in the UK charts.
This FIRST ISSUE VINYL 45 is on the traditional Black and Silver Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd....’ label rim, ‘Sold in UK….’ and ‘Made In Gt. Britain’ printed to both sides of the record labels.
Both record Labels are in SUPERB near mint condition. NO fading to the to the FRESH, UNDAMAGED Silver Printed Text and no more than a couple of mild centre spider trails.
Side 1 matrix: 7XCE 18380-2 and Side 2: 7XCE-18381-2.
Side 1 stampers: 1/RP and Side 2: 1/A.
There is an embossed ‘KT’ tax/price code to the centre of the side 1 record label.
Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are in BARELY PLAYED near mint condition, extremely well cared for by its previous owner, its hard to fault the EXCEPTIONAL vinyl playing surfaces, which show nothing more than just a couple of very faint surface hairlines.
Play Quality:
Both sides play SUPERBLY, without skips or clicks.
The Vinyl 45 comes in its ORIGINAL First Issue Green Parlophone Company bag, advertising ‘Fran the Fan’ to the reverse. The Parlophone bag is a LOVELY example in near mint condition. There is NO tearing, handwriting or seam splits, just a little mild age toning.
An EXCEPTIONAL example of this FIRST ISSUE UK Parlophone Single, which could not disappoint any collector – hard to comprehend that it is nearing its 45th year!!
