THE BEATLES - 'A HARD DAY'S NIGHT'
1964 UK 1st *MONO* PRESSING LP
This truly EXCELLENT copy is 1964 1st UK MONO pressing on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 1230
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'The Parlophone Co. Ltd..' worded rims.
A faint 'MT' purchase tax code is visible around the centre of the side 2 label.
Matrix numbers: XEX 481-3N & XEX 482-3N
Stamper codes: 1/RPG & 5/RHT
Vinyl weight: 164g
Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover with a 'mid-sized' front mono indicator.
Complete with its 'Use Emitex..' rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.

Both are bright & undamaged with just some light spindle marks around the side 2 centre hole mainly.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
Both playing surfaces are clean & extremely glossy and are most importantly free from any surface marks or scratches in strong daylight. Even close inspection directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp fails to reveal anything more than a few barely visible wispy inner-sleeve removal paper hairlines. This high quality, heavy copy which lies 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Play: EXCELLENT +
This fine sounding copy has some careful play on good quality equipment and the sound is clean & warm throughout. Apart from a hint of play wear to the final tracks on either side, my careful play-check at volume found no further deterioration to the sound quality or indeed any clicks, pops or ticks.
Cover
EXCELLENT
A superb clean & strong example which retains a glossy, unscratched front panel laminate with just a single tiny 'thumbnail' wrinkle towards the opening edge, but no other significant signs of wear. There are tiny bruises to each corner and slight front opening edge wear but no tear, splits or other such major faults. The rear panel is pristine and completely blemish-free. All flipbacks are fully intact and all seams & the fully worded spine are unstressed and unsplit.
Inner-sleeve
EXCELLENT
Crisp & crisp with light storage wrinkling but no writing, tears or seams splits.
