Description
This is the rare to find 1962 release on the maroon label of "Buddy Holly and the Crickets" by Coral Records (CRL 57405) in MONO format. The Maroon label pressings were earlier than the Coral multi-color label re-issue. Condition of this very heavy duty vinyl is rated as VG to VG+. This shiny vinyl shows plenty of light scratches and tons of spindle marks. Nonetheless, this vinyl produces a surprisingly solid listening experience from both the sides with no detected pops, skips or repeats and only minor detectible surface noise (plays as if an EX condition vinyl).
The outer jacket has some condition issues, namely a place on front cover where a removed old sticker pulled away a small surface spot (about the size of a quarter - see photo) and there is a few seam deterioration and separation areas although overall this jacket has basic structural integrity (not the typical seam splits often found on older album jackets). Back cover has some stains and a hint of ring wear (SEE PHOTO). This jacket is rated overall as G+ to VG (Goldmine Guide standards).
This classic vintage album featuring such memorable hits as "Oh, Boy!", "Not Fade Away", "Maybe Baby" and "That'll Be the Day" will sure to please Buddy Holly and Rock and Roll Fans of Vinyl!
