HERE WE HAVE A SUPERB, UK RCA RECORDS (APL1-1327) FIRST PRESSING (January 1976) OF DAVID BOWIE'S TREMENDOUS "Station To Station" LP, ALL IN BEAUTIFUL, POSSIBLY COMPLETELY UNPLAYED CONDITION AND DELIVERING ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING, WARM, DEEP, RICH AUDIO

THE ALBUM IS PRESSED ON QUALITY MID/HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL (surprisingly chunky for the time)
WITH THE FIRST ISSUE RCA ORANGE LABELS
MATRIX: APL1-1327-A-2E / APL1-1327-B-1E
AND IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL MATTE SLEEVE, "Printed and made in Great Britain by Garrodprint Ltd."
COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL MATTE PAPER INSERT (which also carries the "Printed and made in Great Britain by Garrodprint Ltd." text) AND A SECOND COPY OF THE INSERT WHICH IS GLOSSY ON ONE SIDE AND MATTE ON THE OTHER

Station to Station takes the detached plastic soul of Young Americans to an elegant, robotic extreme.
Abandoning any pretense of being a soulman, yet keeping rhythmic elements of soul, David Bowie positions himself as a cold, clinical crooner and explores a variety of styles. Everything from epic ballads and disco to synthesized avant pop is present on Station to Station, but what ties it together is Bowie's cocaine-induced paranoia and detached musical persona.
At its heart, Station to Station is an avant-garde art-rock album, most explicitly on "TVC 15" and the epic sprawl of the title track, but also on the cool crooning of "Wild Is the Wind" and "Word on a Wing," as well as the disco stylings of "Golden Years."
It's not an easy album to warm to, but its epic structure and clinical sound were an impressive, individualistic achievement, as well as a style that would prove enormously influential on post-punk

LABELS: The labels are CLEAN and BRIGHT with NO unwanted marks/writing and NO evident spindle traces. MINT
VINYL Visual: The vinyl still retains its DEEP, LIKE-NEW, GLOSSY SHEEN and the surfaces are UNMARKED (there are some light marks on the run-offs but these have NO audio consequence). BEAUTIFUL RECORD. Visually NEAR MINT
VINYL Audio: OUTSTANDING audio - DEEP, RICH SOUND - CRYSTAL CLEAR, VERY SHARP and VERY STRONG - superb deep, rich heavy bass on this first press. There are NO jumps, NO sticks, NO scratches and NO clicks or pops. The LP plays BEAUTIFULLY THROUGHOUT to the highest standard with GREAT CLARITY, NO distortion and NO groove-wear (it's hardly, if ever been played). Must be graded MINT(-) for audio - practically FLAWLESS PLAYBACK and the record sounds STUNNING - TREMENDOUS LP. NOT over-graded in ANY way as I use strict RECORD COLLECTOR grading standards (please refer to my feedback and 'about me' page). BEAUTIFUL COPY
SLEEVE: The sleeve is in EXCELLENT+ condition. Due to its white untreated nature this sleeve is very, very easily marked but this is one of the cleanest and freshest examples. The edges have NO wear to speak of (just some light corner 'bumping') and the spine displays all text CLEAR and BOLD
INSERT: Not a lyric sheet but a simple paper insert printed on one side only listing the musicians featured on this classic record. It is CLEAN, FRESH and UNMARKED but there are one or two 'nicks' to the edges - EXCELLENT. There is also a second insert - glossy on one side and matte on the other - this one is NEAR MINT
