ITEM:  HAMPTON HAWES  -  " The Hamp Hawes Trio "

NOTE:   ....Even though this was an "on the spot" recording, made at The Haig in Hollywood.  Hamp's free swinging style is captured completely and wonderfully THIS IS THE FIRST LP AS A LEADER BY HAMPTON HAWES - and the Jazz world was eagerly awaiting his next one.....

 

•  LABEL =   VANTAGE 10" 1 [RED WAX] MONO [DEEP GROOVE WHITE LABEL ORIGINAL (flat edge) PRESSING]

 Condition Record =  G+   has surface visible that will make some background noise.  VERY RARE FLAT EDGE FIRST PRESSING - excellent hand written notes in the wax too.        

Condition Cover =  G+     no writing or seam splits.  stamp from previous record store on back.   some damage on front and a lot of age/ring wear.  

1952 LIVE MATERIAL.   FEATURING:  Hampton Hawes, Harper Cosby, Lawrence Marable.

TUNES:   Another Hairdo, Hamp's Claws, Hamp's Paws, Buzzy.

 

Grading Scale:

MINT= A genuinely perfect record in both vinyl and cover
M=A nearly perfect record. Will have only one or two visual flaw on vinyl and/or cover
NM=Vinyl has no audible scratches but may have visual flaws. Cover will have only slight ring or edge wear.
VG++ = Vinyl will be in Near Mint Condition. Cover will have ring and/or edge wear.
VG+ = One or two light audible scratches only. Cover will have ring and/or edge wear. Possible writing on Cover and/or label.
VG = Several audible scratches, but not throughout vinyl. Cover will have wear, but no splits or tears. Possible writing on jacket and/or label.
Good = Scratches on vinyl that will effect play, but no skips or repeats. Cover may have significant wear, split, tear or tape.
