BEATLES UK – two LPs, Abbey Road and ‘The early years’.

Abbey Road 1969 - PCS 7088, Apple record labels.

A very early UK issue in original condition featuring:

1. theres NO mention of the track ‘Her Majesty’ on the record label, nor on the sleeve, but the track does play on the record !.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition, the sleeve is fully laminated. The four corners of the sleeve are in excellent+ condition and have remained sharp. The two opening edges of the sleeve are excellent and have remained clean and sharp. The original thin spine is in excellent++ condition and all the text is clear to read. Theres NO pen writing, splits, tears, stains, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition and is the original period EMI plain white inner sleeve with the text, ‘Patent no. 1,125,555. Theres NO pen writing, splits, tears, stickers of sticker residue.

THE VINYL: is in excellent++ condition. The vinyl is made from the period ‘thick, heavy vinyl’. The record has remained very dark and glossy and looks almost like new. It doesn’t look as if it has been played very much at all.

The matrix is:  YEX  749 - 2 and YEX 750 - 1,

The mother / stampers are :  ‘4   M H R’ and ‘10  A P D’.

THE AUDIO: is very good, it plays with a fair bit of crackle, but I feel that with a professional clean the audio would improve as the condition of the playing surfaces are so good. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: side one is in excellent++ condition, side two is in excellent+ condition. As this is a very early issue, side one shows a DARK green Apple colour. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

The Early years – 1971, Contour 2870 111, blue and white Contour record labels.

A UK album in original condition, featuring the Beatles first recording session in Germany in 1961, with Tony Sheridan. This session included ‘Aint she sweet’ with an excellent early John Lennon vocal, and the only known Harrison/McCartney composition ‘Cry for a Shadow’. All tracks are recorded in stereo, also featuring:

1. the catalogue reference of this record printed on the sleeve and label is ‘2870 111’ but engraved onto the run off groove is a different catalogue reference of  ‘2870 125’ !

2. the sleeve notes on the rear are odd, as they change from describing The Beatles as ‘the Beat Brothers’ and then ‘The Beatles !’.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent++ condition, the sleeve is laminated back and front, an excellent crease free sleeve. The two opening edges of the sleeve are clean and sharp. The four corners of the sleeve have remained clean and sharp for its age. The spine is in excellent++ condition and all the text is clear to read. There are NO splits, tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition and is the original plain white sleeve with the text ‘Patent nos 112,555’. Theres NO pen writing, tears, splits, stains, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE VINYL: side one is in MINT condition and side two is in near MINT condition. The condition of the record has been judged under normal daylight conditions. The vinyl has remained very dark and glossy and looks like new.

The engravings on the run off grooves are: ‘2870 125’ ,

THE AUDIO: is excellent, with little to spoil the listening pleasure. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: side one is in excellent+ condition and side two is in excellent condition. The text ‘Made in England’ is on the labels. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
