Original 1963 UK Yellow / Black label PCS 3042 Stereo LP with EJ Day Sleeve
A very hard to find early label variation :-
After the initial run of Gold / Black labels in early 1963 , EMI decided on a 'new look' label design - i.e. Yellow and Black .... The initial run of the 'new look' label design used the same type set as that was used on the Gold/ Black variation for the lower half of the label , which Omitted the 'Recording First Published' print - to the left of the label (beneath the matrix numbers) but Still Included the small 33 1/3 print (to the right of the matrix numbers) This anomaly was noticed , and the small 33 1/3 print was removed from the type set (remember the 33 speed was already in large print - above the yellow Parlophone logo) A very small amount of these labels were produced Omitting the 'Recording First Published' and Incuding the 33 1/3 print.
So , the First Issue Yellow / Black Labels are With the small '33 1/3' print , and Without 'Recording First Published' print.
The Second Issue of the Yellow / Black labels are Without 'Recording First Published . and Without the small '33 1/3' print. Fascinating Stuff !!
Run Off Groove Info :-
Matrix :- YEX 94 - 1 / YEX 95 - 1
Mother Number :- '1' / '1'
Stamper Digit :- 'P' / 'G'
The disc has quite a bit of surface wear clearly evident .... a lot of surface marks , though nothing deep . The run in to the first track - P P Me is a bit noisy , but then plays supringly well .....
The sleeve has quite a bit of wear as can be seen on the photo's condition.
The item is being sold for it's rarity of label , rather than condition.

I usually start auctions at a low price to generate interest in bidding
All items are graded Audio / Visually , and played on a high grade system
Please feel able to bid with confidence , as a collector myself I understand the requirements in the gradings of discs and sleeves , and how important it is to recieve items in the condition as advertised
I grade items ( using the UK Record Collector Grading System) beneath a light , to be sure of condition
I do not believe it is necessary to use the eBay buzzwords such as STUNNING !! RARE !! AWESOME !! , padded out with grossly long winded 'descriptions' ..... Many of the 'experts' who use this method of selling also add technical information , which is totally unfounded and does not correspond with the actual facts , and would be laughable but for the fact it is totally misleading. I take time and care to graded items correctly , and only list quality records , with concise , accurate grading descriptions
I have been a lifelong music fan , my first concert visit was in 1957 (Birmingham Town Hall Skiffle Contest !) and have bought records of all the great music since 1959 , and had the privelege of seeing most of the great artists 'live' ( I saw The Beatles twice and Segovia !)
I began selling professionally in 1976 , and have a wide knowledge of the items I sell (and always learning !) having bought copies of my own at time of issue , always being interested in the sleeve , label and disc variations. If you have any queries , I will do my best to answer correctly

All items carefully packaged using proper cardboard packaging (I do not use low quality preformed mailers)
The discs are placed seperately from the sleeves within the package to avoid splitting or damage . Items are sent promptly - usually within one working day of payment .
