Description

After 20 years of collecting, the time has come for me to sell my Beatles collection and let other collectors appreciate some of the records and memorabilia I've accumilated over the years. Please check out my other listings and remember to save me as a favourite seller, as every week I'll be listing more and more increasingly rare, collectible and desirable Beatles records!

This auction is for a very rare 1969 stereo press of the Beatles LP 'With the Beatles'

This is the 1969 press that features the old yellow / black label design but omits the 'Sold in the UK' statement! These are incredibly rare and hardly ever turn up for sale!

In mid 1969 the tax laws that required UK domestic presses to feature the 'Sold in the UK...' statement since 1964 were changed, and so this text on the label was removed. This happened literally just a month or so before Parlophone adopted the EMI 'one box' silver / black label design that the other EMI labels were beginning to use. By the time this was happening the fans were buying albums like Abbey Road and Let It Be and the earlier albums, especially With The Beatles, were barely selling at all.

So we have a label variation that was only available for a month or so at a time when nobody was really buying the album. It's because of this that this variation is incredibly hard to find!

The cover is holding up fine with some light, general wear and tear. The front has a little dirt buildup on the laminate and some light disc impression. There's a couple of little laminate creases around the very edges with a couple around the mouth edge. Top and bottom seams are holding tight with no wear or splitting at all. The spine is looking good with no wear or splitting and is fully legible. The back has yellowed a little with some light browning down the mouth edge. There's a bit of rubbing in places, like someone's tried to wipe away some moisture and it's caused a bit of roughing.   Inner Sleeve: VG+

The original red EMI advertising inner is included and is holding tight with no splits or anything. There's some light creasing and wear, most noticeably at the mouth edge. It's yellwoed slightly with a few little spots here and there of light browning, but nothing at all serious.   Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : EX

The playing surface has a lovely, crisp shine to it and nothing more than a few light, faint scuffs. Beautiful vinyl!

The labels are clean, crisp and clear with bright, silver text. There's a few, light, little spidery spindlemarks (slightly more on the side 2 label, but still very light and wispery) and just the lightest touch of whitening around each centrehole.
