Well, this is it folks. This is my last week of selling the big stuff on eBay! It's been a great 6 months and I hope there have been gaps in your collection that have now been filled. This week is my final push of some of the best records and memorabilia I have! Thank you all so much for following me!
Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

This auction is for a copy of the Beatles debut UK Parlophone LP ‘Please Please Me’.
This is the very rare and extremely collectible ‘Gold on Black’ pressing with the Dick James credits!
When Please Please Me was released Parlophone were going through a label change. Before then the label style was a little old fashioned and the print was in gold. A couple of weeks after the release of Please Please Me the new label design, which had ‘Parlophone’ written in large, yellow letters, was introduced and featured on the vast majority of the early presses of the album. It was only the very earliest presses that featured the gold labels and it was these copies that bore the full front of Beatlemania.
A lot of these copies were completely trashed and played into the ground before being unceremoniously thrown away to be replaced. Not many copies have survived, and those that are in decent condition command a huge premium.
Very rare and extremely collectible!

This is the original, early Please Please Me sleeve that has the Angus McBean credit aligned to the far right of the second S in songs. The cover is not completely trashed, but has been pretty well loved in it's active life (over 50 years old now!) The cover has a nice colour and has a very light red hue to it. There's a little dirt buildup on the laminate and there's some wear and creasing around the edges. There's a small stain bottom right on the bottom seam and the bottom right cover has come away as you can see in the photo above. Both the bottom and top seams have torn in from the mouth to about two thirds of the way in. The spine is looking good with a few little laminate creases but hasn't split and is fully legible. The back cover has yellowed a little with a lot of light, small brown spots. The top and bottom overflaps have become damaged and there's a little browning and disc impression. Like I say, not trashed but looking a little fragile. Inner Sleeve: FAIR

The original tissue paper Emitex inner is included. It's yellowed a little and has some creases in the corners. The top is showing some wear around the opening and the bottom seam has completely torn. Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : FAIR/GOOD

The playing surface has apretty decent shine to it. The playing surface on side 1 has a fair amount of light scuffing and a few slightly heavier looking scuffs and marks - nothing too serious. On side 2 there's also a fair amount of light scuffing but there's a little more slightly heavier looking scuffs, marks and surface scratches. Not trashed by any means, and still looks like a pretty respectible copy, but does have its fair share or marks and scuffs.

The labels are clean and the gold text is actually pretty bright. Both lavels do have a fair amount of light rubbing and some wear as you can see in the photos above..
