Description
HERE'S something you don't see every day: A white-label A.R.C. - Brunswick shellac test pressing from 1932, by BING CROSBY, autographed in Bing's unmistakable hand, in flowing blue ink, "Sincerely, Bing Crosby."
It's A.R.C. mx 12500-A, "LINGER A LITTLE LONGER IN THE TWILIGHT." (the issued take, Brunswick 6491).
It's intriguing to speculate who could have placed a white labeled A.R.C. test pressing before Bing. These things were NOT commonly available in 1932! The blue fountain pen suggests that Bing signed it right at the time, rather than years later. Perhaps it was someone who worked in the pressing plant? Or maybe an executive in the Brunswick office? At any rate, this is QUITE a rare item!
This UNIQUE single-sided white-label A.R.C. test pressing Mx. 12500-A is in respectable E- condition.
PHOTOS: 1) Bing with a cool condenser mike, 1932. 2 and 3) Genuine autographs of Bing Crosby from the early '30s. As you can see, his signature was remarkably consistent. Note the huge gap at the base of the "B," and the swirly-curly bizniss in the "C."

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
An Unsolicited Testimonial!: "Superbatone is one of the coolest people on eBay - seriously. An excellent source for music, knowledge, and whimsy, and an asset to the community who cares about music and its preservation. It goes without saying that he is an expert in all facets surrounding 78’s and their content."
And another: “Descriptions as passionate and informative as superbatone’s are commensurate with what you receive: beautiful records, fast service - and even his writing on the shipping box is interesting, artistic, and indicative of the care taken for these records and to transport them safely.”
