Description

Up for auction is David Bowie - Man Who Sold The World 1970 Mercury with cartoon cover.  This is an authentic Mercury press with the stamped matrix and the lyrics much closer to the cartoon on the back cover. As you know, this one was heavily booted and the covers are a bit different, and the audio is of a much poorer quality. Not this one, though. The monstrous bass sound alone will rattle windows within a mile radius.

Cover: EX-/VG+
Cover is still in shrink. Someone wrote a pen mark on the front, and there's a hole in the bottom left. The top left corner has some wear. Otherwise barely any ringwear and the colors are bright and beautiful. Notice the text is very close to the word balloon on the back cover.

Vinyl: VG/VG+. Overall a very enjoyable listen and while not pristine, sound quality is great. There's no "skip" during the chorus of "All the Madmen" like the phonies have. Stamped Matrixes on both sides.

Side 1 is VG. There are a few light marks and 1-2 small but feelable light scratches that cause a tic in "After All" here and there, particularly in the first minute or so. There are also a few small noises here and there during the side, but nothing that distracts very much and is infrequent.

Side 2 is VG+, only a few light marks, none feelable. Sounds solid with minimal noise overall..
