Description
WELCOME TO OUR AUCTION!
On offer today is a Original USA stereo issue of Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers 'The Big Beat' LP!
This is the original 1961 USA stereo edition (ST-84029) on the Blue/White 'Blue Note' label complete with original front laminated thick card pasted sleeve (Americian style). The inner sleeve seems to be an advertisement for abc- paramount and I don't think it's the original that came with the LP but I could be wrong,
Sleeve Condition : VG++ (The front laminated thick card sleeve is in exceptional condition for its age with little signs of wear, No rips, Splits, writing or any things that spoil sleeves like this! The only small issue is that the top of the sleeve has 'sunned' a little over the years, (probably from the California heat) who knows, but still this does not have any impact over the front cover graphics and looks fabulous!
Record Condition : VG+ (The 1st press Heavyweight vinyl has obviously been played many times over the past 56 years but to be fair, only shows a couple of light marks and nothing that shows up on playback, These early Blue note pressing are incredibly robust and real audiophile fidelity and were pressed to last the test of time! Still has a wonderful sheen too!

- EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

- GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
