Description
Lou Donaldson (with Blue Mitchell, Art Blakey, Kenny Dorham, Mattew Gee, Elmo Hope, Percy Heath, Horace Silver, Gene Ramey) QUARTET/QUINTET/SEXTET. Blue Note 1537, recorded 1956?. Deep groove 767 Lexington Avenue address on label and jacket; EAR and “RVG” in wax on both sides. Reid Miles cover is in E/E+ condition: front surface is clean and strong; reverse and edges have a little bit of rub wear. Disc plays E/E-. One underground pressing thud is audible only in the silent passages at top of both sides. Sound coming off the groove surface is slightly crunchy in the outermost bands, quiets down toward E by the second or third selection.
