Description
Mega-rare northern soul 45 gem two-sider featuring ROBERT TANNER and THE JIVERS on the obscure MEGATONE label out of Lynchburg, Virginia, from approximately the late sixties.
Titles are “Tell Me Your Name” and “How I Feel.”
This is a stock copy, label is pale green with black print.
Catalog number is MT-111. “Music City” is machine-stamped in the trailoff area.
Guaranteed to be authentic and original. I do not sell bootlegs or modern reissues.
In searching the internet, I found a bit of information about this record on the popsike web site. Popsike documents one copy sold, in which case the seller actually spoke to Robert Tanner about the record. Tanner recorded two singles for Megatone, each limited to 500 copies. This was the first, with “Sweet Memories” being the second.
Condition is very nice, with approximately 85 to 90 percent of the original gloss remaining. There are some light scuffs and a couple minor hairlines that do not adversely affect the playing. The fidelity is very strong and clear as you can hear in the accompanying sound clips. I think you would be hard pressed to find a nicer sounding copy. The label has a couple minor stains, but no writing or stickers. I think the winning bidder will be very pleased with this exceptional rarity.
