This is overage from my personal collection...
Three years ago, I set out to compile a PERFECT collection of first pressings of all of Frank Zappa's music. If you know and love Zappa, you understand what such an undertaking ultimately was.
When available, I tried to buy sealed copies. I learned VERY quickly that 2nd pressings were often sealed in the EXACT same sleeves that first pressing were!!!!!
(You can imagine the disappointment of opening up a $150-200, sealed record to discover that it is not what you want!!! But I digress...)
Now that I have finally completed my personal set (Yes, I DID IT!!!!) :-) I am finally selling off some of the stuff that I have left over.
This copy of Uncle Meat was the hardest, most expensive mistake of my whole collection. I bought it sealed, and, before opening it, I did not notice that it was a thin, rather than heavy card-stock jacket -- This is the ONLY visible difference, besides the weight (I now know) from the first pressing when the album is still sealed. I paid $250 for this. After opening it, I discovered, to my horror, that it was a late-repressing.
Nevertheless, it is a true NM copy. I opened it, cleaned it, and test played it myself on 7/27/13. I am not keeping it ONLY because it is not a first pressing.
So, what you are bidding on is a brand new, NM copy of the record. It is missing the booklet, but that is because this particular repressing did not include it.
If you are looking for perfect playability, but don't care about 1st pressing collectability... This is the deal of the decade for you! You will very much enjoy listening to this record!
