Description
This is an original 1967 vinyl album by The Mothers of Invention ( Frank Zappa ). This very rare 1st pressing third LP " We're Only in it For the Money " (V6-5045) is on the original blue Verve label with silver print. This is the super hard to find original version that is NOT edited in any way. Both " Who Needs the Peace Corps " and " Let's Make the Water Turn Black " both have the original lyrics. The matrix number in the trail off wax is " V6-5045 MGS-1250-REV F " indicating a 1st pressing. The original insert sheet of Sgt. Pepper parodies is still intact and in MINT- condition. The vinyl is in absolutely stunning MINT- condition including great labels with NO spindle marks. I really am tempted to say mint with no minus, it's that nice, but is anything completely mint? The cover is also nice, but not as clean as the contents inside. The cover is in VG++ condition with a few minor issues. The color is still bright and vivid with the inside of the gate-fold being in mint- shape. The top seam on the back part of the gate-fold (right side) has a tiny 1/4 an inch split. The bottom left corner has just a tad of wear (this shows only toward the back side, and not the front part of the cover). At the bottom right corner on the back cover (where the Verve logo is ) there are initials wrote in thin blue ink. This is done lightly and is hard to see without looking carefully (I almost missed it because the Verve logo overpowers it). The back cover also has just the very, very slightest of partial ring wear (almost not worth mentioning). There is none on the front cover. One last thing is the bottom right corner on the front part of the gate-fold has a tiny 1/16 an inch piece of paper that sticks out from the cover. This is not a tear or rip, but is just how the factory made the paper fold around the cardboard when the cover was made. The cover is still really nice, I am just trying to be picky.
* This is as good an album as Frank and the Mothers ever made. If I was picking a record to represent their genus , This is the one !!
