Original UK Atlantic red & plum label stereo press.

Time And A Word was recorded during touring the UK between December 1969 and February 1970 and was released in July. They hired Advision Studios, London to record the album between gigs and brought in sound engineer Eddy Offord. The addition of orchestral strings and brass section led to conflict with Tony Banks, who felt his guitar parts were being sidelined. He had quit before the album was released and was replaced by Steve Howe soon after. The nude cover was also deemed to be unsuitable for the USA, so a band photo was used, but featured Howe not Banks....

This is the original issue with the red & plum Atlantic labels, with the lyric inner and the A-1 B-1 matrices with the early 1-1-2 1-1-3 mother stampers of the very first presses.
  The matt sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some very light corner/edge wear and very light storage rubbing on the rear cover. The spine is intact & fully readable. The plain company inner is intact, is slightly discoloured & in EX condition. The lyric inner is also intact and in EX+ condition.   The record is in visually EX+ condition, with only couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines and one or two tiny needle marks/scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of one or two faint spindle markings on each side.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some low background noise during the run in grooves and three low pops on track 3 side 2 caused by a skmall needle drop mark.
Overall, a really great, loud and clear listen.  

The matrix nos. are; 2400006, A-1 stamper 1-1-2, B-1 stamper 1-1-3. This is one of the very early pressings of the original UK stereo issue of this iconic 1970 album.
