Magnificent barely played condition!!!!!
Machined first press matrices: A//1 B//1
So, so hard to find, this all time early classic Yes album and here it is where it all came together splendidly!! Great symphonic prog album in great EX++ condition!! I am very happy to be able to present this fantastic and now ULTRA rare album . This will be a great first acquisition as well as a terrific upgrade!!!
After a year of Genesis playing shows almost nightly during 1969 and 1970 since the band left Decca, Tony Stratton-Smith approached Genesis and signed the band to Charisma. By mid-1970, Genesis had written and performed enough songs to fill over two full-length albums. The songs that the band felt were not strong enough to fit on Trespass, such as "Everywhere is Here," "Grandma," "Little Leaf," "Going out to Get You," "Shepherd," "Moss," "Let Us Now Make Love," and "Pacify," were discarded by the time lead guitarist Anthony Phillips left the band.
Though most of Genesis's songs were composed by the group as a whole, in a 1985 interview Mike Rutherford said that Trespass was the only Genesis album where every single song was composed by all the band members equally; every other album by Genesis had at least a few songs which were chiefly written by one or two individuals, with only minor contributions at most from the rest of the band.
The album cover was painted by Paul Whitehead, who also did the covers for the band's next two albums. Whitehead had finished the cover and then the band added 'The Knife' to the running order. Feeling that the cover no longer fitted the mood of the album, they asked Whitehead to redo it. Reluctant to do so, Whitehead was inspired to slash the actual canvas with a knife.
SO HARD TO FIND THIS ALBUM IN THIS FANTASTIC CONDITION AND WITH THE ORIGINAL ATTACHED PHOTO BOOKLET FULLY INTACT!!. THIS WILL BE AN UPGRADE FOR MANY SERIOUS COLLECTORS. IT IS VERY HARD THESE DAYS TO STILL FIND THIS GEM IN THIS SMASHING CONDITION. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT INVESTMENT PIECE.
Vinyl: EX++. I am fortunate to own a superb deck with a Linn Sondek cartridge connected to a ROTEL amp and B&W speakers that together show up the faults as well as the wonderful music that classic vinyl contains. The copy I am presenting is of unheard of quality. I have never come across a better copy of Fragile than this one, it is truly a final upgrade. This is a wonderful heavyweight slab of gorgeous earliest Atlantic vinyl, impossible to find these days!! there are NO marks or hairlines. The sound is supreme without any clicks, ticks or crackle!! Far better than any CD version could ever sound with gorgeous channel separation. If you have not heard this first press ever a whole new dimension of depth will open up to you. Needless to say NO jumps, clicks or sticks. This will be a fantastic upgrade for most long time collectors!!
Gatefold sleeve: EX to EX++. Hard to find in this supreme condition as most have extensive wear. Being a matt sleeve of course does not help. This has the lovely inner photo booklet in NM condition. There are no creases and the edges are lovely, largely without any storage wear. The spine is beautiful and fully legible with only the lightest of wear. The opening is nice and still sharp. Light corner scuffs prevent me from grading higher. First owner put some track times behind the title on the inner gatefold, discreetly and not intrusive. Manufactured by MacNeill Press Ltd., London.
It also has the inner sleeve which is polylined and has the original dateprint "1071" (Oct. 1971).
This is a unique investment opportunity!!! The next prog album to go completely through the roof. Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible so late in the day. Get this while you still can. This value of the album is only going to go one way ... up and up ... until it will be totally unavailable at all for a reasonable price.
Important : International postage will be registered and insured if over GBP 45.00. Please wait for my invoice before paying. Postage will be according to Royal Mail rates. Postage is NOT a money spinning exercise for me.
Though there are rarely ever any problems with my items, I always try my very best to describe everything exactly! PLEASE REMEMBER to contact me FIRST, if you have any problems at all, before you leave feedback and star ratings, so I get a chance to turn any negative experience into a positive one! I can always happily sort anything out for you, if you let me know you have a problem! This way no one has to leave Negative/Neutral feedback - and we both walk away happy! Similarly with the amount of stars, anything less than a full 5 * rating is effectively detrimental to a seller's rating as lower ratings will incur higher Final Value Fees and lower priority in the bidlists eventually making it unattractive to list items on Ebay at all. I know of at least one major previous Ebay seller who has decided not to list via Ebay again. Please do NOT bid if you cannot give me at least 1 chance to sort everything out to your FULL satisfaction in the unlikely event of a problem. Thanks again!!
This an excellent investment opportunity!!! Any questions please ask me and I will try to answer soon.
On 16-Apr-13 at 11:38:03 BST, seller added the following information: Towards the end of the description there is a paragraph about Genesis - Trespass. This of course does not apply to this album and was a remainder of a previous listing.
