YES ~ Close To The Edge. UK 1st press Atlantic K50012. 1972
 
Very rare original 1st pressing of Close To The Edge with textured sleeve and most importantly, A1 B1 matrix, which are very hard to find. This copy is in an average condition but offered as an extremely hard to find A1 B1 pressing.
 
Grading: -
 
Outer Sleeve: VG+
 
The first press textured gatefold sleeve is in VG+ condition.  Overall it doesn’t display any major damage, just some general wear to the front and rear covers as displayed in the photos. The majority of the front cover is very clean and the top and edges display a light to moderate amount of rubbing.  The spine has slightly more rubbing and is slightly squashed over to one side.
 
Vinyl: Visual : VG+ Audio : EX
 
The vinyl is in VG+ condition. The vinyl generally only has a light amount of very fine hairline marks, with approx. 3 slightly more noticeable marks which are not heavy, but have perhaps been caused by a fingernail or similar. 
The vinyl weighs in at a respectable 145g a reasonably heavy weight for a record of this period.
 
Audio : EX The quality of audio playback was pleasantly surprising, generally very quiet and playback was dynamic and clear throughout. This was a really great listening experience and I did not detect any increase in background noise through the slightly more noticeable marks whatsoever. Superb.

Labels: EX
 
The Labels are in EX condition, perfectly clean. When viewed under a strong halogen light a number of spindle lines can be seen.
 
Inner Sleeve:  VG+
 
The fragile green custom inner sleeve is in reasonably nice shape. It is clean throughout and shows some signs of light handling only.  There is a seam split to the left edge measuring around 2cm. Overall the inner is in reasonably good shape for what is typically a very difficult inner to find in top condition.
 
Postage and Packing:
 
All records are placed in a separate poly lined inner and stored flat outside the sleeve and then placed sealed in a re-sealable polythene outer prior to shipping.  Records are then placed between square cardboard sheets before packaging into cruciform mailers especially designed for LP’s. These mailers are a high-grade type which reinforce the edges around the LP and as such they are larger and weigh more than standard mailers.  My postage costs reflect the additional size and weight of the packaging that I use.
