ELLOW BIRD "Attack Attack" b/w "Right On" Original 1974 SPAIN ARIOLA label VOVER VG VINYL NEAR MINT Scarce British glam rock that seems to be more common as a German release, so maybe the band were from Germany. “Attack Attack” owes a HEAVY debt to Sweet, with those squealy glam vocals and an anthemic chorus. “Right On” has that British football stadium Gary Glitter chant vibe going on, adding in some fuzzed-up Giorgio Moroder synth. Although it sounds like they may have just taken it out of the box! Despite the torrent of junkshop tinmine glam comps that came out a few years ago, this one seems to have slipped through the cracks. So grabbing an original is still the only way to hear it. And they don’t pop up often.
