The BEATLES ‘With The Beatles’ Mono PMC 1206
Welcome to this auction for this STUNNING copy of ’WITH THE BEATLES’ preserved in pristine condition since 1964 with the much rarer 3N matrices and PARLOPHONE flyer.
Side 1: XEX 447-3N with stampers 1 RG
Side 2: ‘KT’ embossed XEX 448-3N with stampers 2 GM
As you can see from the matrix this LP has the ultra rare 3N suffix. After the first pressing 1N matrix, most WtB were sold with 7N matrices. This copy also contains the RARE and FRAGILE PARLOPHONE flyer issued to record dealers to display in shops.
The LP is in NEAR MINT condition. The vinyl looks superb, clean and glossy. If you bought this ‘as new’ I don’t think you would complain. I have played this LP carefully once and it is confirmed that the audio is as you would expect. LOUD, CLEAR and untainted by the passage of time
The LABELS have very slight spindle trails and side 2 has what is probably a couple of production flaws whereby some ink has been misplaced (see just above the 6 in PMC 1206). They are both superbly clean as they would have looked in late 1963.
The EMITEX poly lined inner is a perfect example, no creases, marks or tears.
The ‘Garrod & Lofthouse’ COVER is a beauty. The iconic front picture looks like it was printed last month. The white is white and there are no handling wear, crease marks. If I was being picky I can notice a very slight laminate crease right close to the edge where the record goes in but the rest of the front is pristine. The back is nice and white with intact, strong flipbacks and outstanding strong corners. The SPINE is beautifully clear and still stands proud. On the back this cover does have the mis-titled ‘You Really Gotta Hold On Me’ (side 2, track 3 listing) which was corrected to ‘You Really Got A Hold On Me’ later on.
You will search long and hard find a BETTER example of a UK release 1963 Beatles LP. This really is a keeper to be put in the vault. This LP has had one careful owner since new and it is now offered for sale to genuine collectors as I believe it is one of the best UK 1963 examples of ‘With The Beatles’ to be found anywhere in 2017.
As a BONUS this LP also comes with a genuine 1963 PARLOPHONE ‘Outstanding Records For Your Collection’ flyer dated Nov 1963 (1163). This fragile paper is creased at the top but has no writing or marks or tears and has been kept inside this LP since purchase in 1963.
