Description
A nice and complete condition example of the original 1963 UK reel to reel 3 & 3/4 ips mono tape release of "With The Beatles" by The Beatles. With the original "Emitape" leaflet, the packing/batch slip, the small green and gold Parlophone logo sticker to the spool. Cat No TA-PMC-1206. Released at the same time as the original vinyl album in 1963.
No split corners to lid and base, intact and unbroken spool, clearly printed leader tapes - white Part 1 and red part 2, no pen markings/writing. Rare purchases in comparison to the vinyl LP in the 1960s, usually by discriminating audiophiles wanting top quality sound. These were usually bought by special order from the retailer and gives you some idea of how rare they were in comparison to the vinyl LP. Please see all photographs.
Played throughout both sides and tested - perfect. Emitape leaflet and warranty slip in excellent condition.
This example is unusual, in that the lid is covered with "Clarifoil" - the shiny, transparent material that was used on the front covers of Beatles vinyl LP records of the time and was "wipe- clean". Unusual to see it on the reel to reel tape boxes. (This may have been a one-off marketing experiment by EMI). I have a copy of "Please Please Me" with the same, and they have consequently stayed stain-free and shiny.
Hear the iconic second album from the Beatles on authentic original tape, without the usual "pop and crackle/hiss" of the vinyl record, whilst owning the much rarer format.
