'ITS THE VINYL COUNTDOWN'

Welcome to 'Its the vinyl countdown' music auctions. Here you will find some of the most incredible rare records and music memorabilia for your collection. We pride ourselves on auctioning only the highest grade records and items, you will not see anything listed here below EX+ condition, unles the item is extremely rare. You will not see worn covers, warped records or scratched records. We simply do not bother with them.

We list in many cases, 'Archived' & 'mint' condition items, we are able to source from private collections all over the UK. So we hope you can be put at ease that what you are bidding on is of the highest quality.

We play through most of the records, unless the item is clearly mint, or sealed..in which case we don't play them, thus maintaining their 'unplayed' status!  Obviously with some of these rare items there will be the odd 'anomoly' along the way , the odd little static pop or lead in 'sizzle' for a split second.. nothing is perfect we find! all systems differ, but we aim to describe these as accurately as possible for you.... PLEASE ENJOY THIS ITEM YOU ARE NOW LOOKING AT..

THE VINYL   MINT-   INCREDIBLE CONDITION

As you can see, this vinyl is the highly prized 1st UK pressing - WITH THE SCOOPED ORANGE SUNBURST LABELS, and it is in incredible condition..

This first pressing is a superb vinyl which has retained its amazing glossy sheen and finish. There is no dulling only and overall it is in incredible condition for an LP of this age. The edges are silky smooth, typical of these vintage pressings. We are seing fewer and fewer copies of this LP, so rarely do we see a copy at all, let alone like this.

The centre hole shows a couple of tiny light spindle skate lines only, the holes remain tight with no wear.

Under a very bright light you can see there are a few tiny light whisp lines and a couple of tiny feint hairlines- which does not sound ..thats it!

There is no damage or wear to either side or anything which spoils the play. The LP was played only what appears to be very few times, and then archived since then to now- these vinyls we are listing are simply as good as it gets.. all are in supreme  condition.

On playing there was only some tiny lead in static in the dead grooves  and a couple of tiny little feint static cracks in the dead grooves in a couple of tracks, and the whole LP played absolutely amazing, as good as we have heard!

OVERALL A STUNNING VINYL IN PRISTINE CONDITION

THE SLEEVE     EX  STRONG

RARE FULLY TEXTURED SLEEVE -with SUNBURST & EMI LOGOS

Most issued sleeves of this LP are glossy card versions, this is the earliest limited edition 1978 sleeve..super rare to see like this.

This is in SUPER condition with only some light discolouration on the edges and a coupleof tiny spots of discolour- This sleeve is a terror for keeping 'white', and for such a rare sleeve this is the first time we have ever found one like this..it is a super example, not MINT, but very very nice, and they are so rare to see at all this good.

No powdery white ringwear - and only the feintest of ring press hardly visible at all.

The open edge has some very light feathering. And some spider liens along the edging too, nothing too bad.

The tips have some tiny litle rub on the spine top and bottom, and a couple of corner dinks on the open edge.

The spine edge  is unmarked and all legends are perfectly readable, there is a squash indent at either end, possibly done on production, and only the feintest of discolouration.

So, whilst not as MINT sleeve, this is still the cleanest example by far that we have seen..the textured versions are very rare.

THE INNER SLEEVE   MINT-

Original thick card 'creamy white' lyric inner with thumb scoop and rounded edges..again, rare to see this inside as later presses had no card inner. This is in pristien condition, only the feintest of discolour
