Vogue Picture Record R754
Welcome!
Vintage Vogue 10" picture record from my pop's Detroit record collection. He was kind enough to give me a number of them quite a few years ago because I loved the vintage graphics. This one is number R756, The Charlie Parker Quintet with She's Funny That Way and Dizzy's Dilemma. Art is signed Wirts on She's Funny That Way.
Condition is well played, as shown; these records are sold as collectible art, not for their play properties, and there are a number of scratches and scuffs. The record retains good gloss.
Sav-Way Industries was formed in 1946 in Detroit, Michigan and operated for less than a year. During their time in operation they produced approximately 74 different Vogue Picture Records. Although the records were known for their high quality production and excellent audio properties, they are of most interest today to collectors for their picture art, which reflected the songs as well as some of the social mores of the mid 1940's. They remain a compelling part of American and Detroit music history.
