Click to open supersize image Here we have The Paul Chambers Quartet's classic fourth studio LP, Bass On Top, recorded and released by Blue Note Records in 1957. This 7 track album is an ORIGINAL pressing, #1569 in the Blue Note Catalogue and features Paul Chambers on bass, Hank Jones on piano, Kenny Burrell on guitar, and Art Taylor on drums. This record contains an "RVG" stamp and "ear" etching in the dead wax portion of the record, and features Blue Note's original blue and white label with no "Inc" or registered trade mark "R", which is highly sought after by Blue Note collectors.
This VG condition record has been tested and plays through nicely with some occasional clicks and pops and shows a few light scratches. The album cover/media is in very good plus (VG+) condition with some very slight wear around the edge and spine consistent with age and use. Overall, this is a great copy of this classic record, and a must-have for any Jazz fan!
