Description

Extremely Rare.  Original issue from original pressing of 300 copies. never played, still sealed in original plastic.  Got it from the bassplayer while helping him move his apartment.  You're rare chance to own the original in perfect mint condition    I'm thinking of moving and all must go.

A relatively unknown band to most, but legendary for their notorious Solution LP. The story goes that the band was so hated that to anger people they would put their LPs under people's windshield wipers after their shows, or throw them in the crowd at shows. Good luck ever finding a copy There were only 300 pressed circa '82-'83 and you have to figure a lot of them were destroyed by angry fans. As for the music, they had the typical old Boston HC sound like the FU's or Jerry's Kids, which makes them automatically good. The main reason the record was so hated was because of some extreme right wing lyrics some of the songs contained. You have to hear it to believe it.

Massachusetts' appropriately-titled Vile is probably known only to the most diehard record collectors and other degenerates . A mysterious and controversial band, they befouled the punk scene with their 1982 Solution LP, then disappeared off the face of the earth.

Vile started in Mansfield, a town near the Massachusetts Rhode Island border. The aim of the band was presumably to anger as many people as possible, and their dubious tactic was bigotry. In possibly their only Boston appearance, opening up for the Angelic Upstarts in 1982, the singer told racist jokes from the stage and threw the mike stand at a member of the audience. Shortly after, there was an exchange of letters in the local magazine Boston Rock, where Vile defended their right to "free speech" and took out ads proclaiming "Vile says F Off." Their infamous LP was recorded in the legendary Radiobeat Studio, and featured lyrics attacking women, minorities, priests, and pretty much everybody in general. The band distributed some copies of the record by leaving them on the windshields of cars parked at the Boston club the Channel. It has since become a coveted collector's item.
