This is the first version with an image of journalist Emerson superimposed on Lou Reed's face on the backcover. This is known as the "torso" version.
The second version has a sticker blotting this out.
The third version has it airbrushed away.
Very rare and sought after record, previous auctions have been known to go up as high as $4000.
Condition – Vinyl: Visually graded as EXCELLENT
Audio grade is EXCELLENT -
Label grade is EXCELLENT with only minor spindle marks.
The record shows a very nice glossy finish, I would suggest it was rarely played. A few hairline scratches but I would still grade the record EX.
Play testing the record showed a few pops and ticks but nothing bad. Overall it is an excellent and rare find!
Buyers will not be disappointed with the quality of this vinyl.
Note - this is the RARER of the Torso releases, the East Coast pressing.
Condition – Cover: Visually graded as VERY GOOD +
The cover retains it's original white sheen with virtually no ring wear. There is a fair amount of shelf wear to the top of the sleeve however.
The banana sticker is partially intact. One crease to the top left corner..
Labels on the spine are VERY clean, includes the original inner sleeve.
Original first press TORSO cover. Almost 50 years old, this has been looked after very well!
